The benefits of exercise are undeniable. The heart is one muscle that benefits from proper diet and consistent exercise. The Texas Heart Institute reported that people who exercise are less likely to develop heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol levels.

Coronary Artery Disease (CHD), as defined by the American Heart Association, is caused by atherosclerosis. It is a condition that narrows the coronary arteries due to build up of fat and plaque, and may cause angina(chest pain), heart attack or both. Plaque is formed in the blood vessels -- like a glob -- that prevents the smooth flow of blood to the heart. When there is too much plaque deposit in the blood vessels, your heart struggles, rendering it weaker and less efficient.
