Exercise Machines
For Cross Training
Fitness experts say that cross training will help prevent sports injuries. By doing the treadmill on Mondays, the elliptical on Wednesdays, and the bike on Fridays, you are working as many muscle groups as you can, contrary to favoring only one part of the body.
Falling in love with the treadmill is good, and
it's probably a machine that provides the most flexibility because
you can walk or run, either on a level surface or on an incline.
However, to avoid the phenomenon of hitting
a wall or a plateau in your fitness goals, it is sometimes a
good idea to walk away from the treadmill once in a while and
try the cross bars, elliptical, and recumbent bikes for the
sake of variation.
Cross training on different exercise machines
also offer a wider range of movement, thus avoiding the overworked
and under-worked muscle syndrome.
A balanced workout must be the objective.
A greater number of muscles are put to the test. The heart
- being also a muscle, in fact the most important one - also
benefits.
Exercise Machines:
An
Elliptical Machine is one example. C.J. Gustafson wrote an article
reviewing elliptical exercise machines that have attracted over
six million people so far!
Their increasing popularity
is due to the low impact exercise it generates; yet giving a
total body workout that is challenging enough for serious athletes.
Exercise machines are
also safe for beginners and for women in the early pregnancy
stage, provided that they are done in moderation and with the
guidance of a health professional.
Features of elliptical exercise machines include: a wireless heart rate control monitor, compact and efficient space saving footprint, electromagnetic brake systems, sharp LCD displays, quiet and smooth efficiency, and numerous resident programs, including manual (you mix and match levels and speeds yourself). Elliptical exercise machines are also known as cross trainers.
Exercise machines, although they may not be cheap are a worthwhile investment for those interested in fitness, health and in exercising daily. There are days when you simply cannot make it to the gym, for whatever the reason. If you have any type of exercise equipment at home, you can still keep to your exercise regiment without losing the momentum.
Consider this Exercise
machines: are great for cardio, and great for the heart!
And whatever you do to benefit your heart now, will keep you
healthy and fit for many years to come.
