Ischemia Caused by Coronary Artery Disease
Ischemia is the Condition Angina is the Symptom
One of the main conditions caused by Coronary Artery Disease is Ischemia,
it is the condition that occurs when the heart muscle is starved for
oxygen, and doesn't get the sufficient amount of blood it needs to
keep on functioning.
Painful episodes of ischemia called angina
can occur when the heart is overexerted, at those times it needs
more oxygen. If the episode doesn't last too long there isn't much
damage done to the heart muscle.
Chronic
ischemia and angina can occur from branch disease, which
is Coronary Artery Disease of the smaller vessels and arteries that
branch off from the three main coronary arteries.
