Muscle and The Heart
Muscle And The Heart
As we gain more insight and understanding of the causes of heart disease, we are learning that being muscular and lean isn’t just for gaining a beautiful physique, it is a necessity for ideal heart health too. Ideally, it seems, the healthy composition of the human body is muscular and lean, with limited fat.
There are several reasons why being lean and muscular benefits our heart health.
Increasing our muscle mass we are reducing our LDL cholesterol levels. LDL cholesterol a (Lipid) fat which is a fatty deposit found in the blood stream and is implicated in causing the arteries to clog up. It is considered one of the hearts biggest enemies. It tends to increase by those who have excessive fats in their bodies. By increasing muscle mass, the body tends to burn more energy. For each additional pound of muscles in the body the body burns additional 40 calories per day.
By increasing the mass we gain strength; as we gain strength we decrease the level of exertion the heart needs to exert itself during the basic daily activities and chores. The less strain on the heart the healthier it is.
All Muscles No Fat
Everyone needs to have an inventory of fat and good cholesterol,
but the idea is to have a healthy proportion of fat to lean muscles;
hence, this apparent preoccupation with BMI (body mass index) and
the need to measure it periodically.
If the ratio indicates a higher volume of lean muscles rather than fat that means a person's health is good, and he is able to engage in activities requiring strength, endurance and flexibility. His heart is probably also very healthy, as the amount of fat is minimal.
The Most Important Muscle: The Heart
The human body is a magnificent piece of workmanship. If properly cared for, it takes good care of you! This means that if you keep your body healthy, it in turn will protect you from illness or disease.
The same can be said of the heart. The heart is an astonishing complex machinery of elements that work like magic; it keeps keeps you alive!
But your heart depends solely on you to keep it in perfect working order. If you keep the fat and cholesterol and plaque away from its vessels and arteries, it will continue to treat you as a beloved master.
The heart needs a good spurt of exercises aerobics, anaerobic and stretching exercises on a regular basis. If you give it what I needs consistently, perhaps you won't need any heart medication or any surgical intervention for a long, long time, you will live a long healthy and happy life.
