The Coronary Anatomy


The exact anatomy of the myocardial blood supply varies considerably from person to person.

In general there are two main coronary arteries that run along the the surface of the heart.

  • The Left Coronary Artery
  • The Right Coronary Artery

Both of these arteries originate from the beginning (root) of the aorta, immediately above the aortic valve.
