The Coronary Arteries
These are the main coronary arteries:
The
left coronary artery carries the blood to the front, top
and part of the back side of the left ventricle.
The left anterior descending, the LAD branches off the left
coronary artery and carries the blood to the front of the heart
to both ventricles.
The circumflex wraps around to the back of the heart and
carries the blood to the left ventricle and left atrium.
The Right coronary artery the RCA carries the blood to the
right ventricle and also a portion of the undersurface and back
of the left ventricle.
In addition to these there are many smaller branches that come
off these main ones. They vary greatly in number, size, and location
from person to person.
