What Causes Clogged Arteries
The clogging of the arteries is caused by several
factors related to Coronary
artery disease when fatty deposits of cholesterol and other
substances stick to the arterial walls and create plaque.

What actually occurs during or prior to the
heart attack is much harder to determine. We still haven't figured
out exactly what it is that causes the plaque to erupt and block
the artery causing the attack.
There are several factors which seem to be causing plaque instability
and the eruption
- Toxic LDL's-
LDL's that got oxidized and are being healed by the white blood
cells
- Inflammations
- swelling of the arteries, this too is part of the healing
process, when the white blood cells attempt to heal the arteries
they create scar like tissues which swell.
- Calcification
- hardening of the arteries, here too it's part of the healing
process where the body attempts to fortify the damaged artery
by turning into a bone like structure.
- Thrombosis
- blood clots in the arteries, here again, the natural healing
process is that when there's a scratch or an irritation that begins
to bleed, the area clots to protect it from bleeding. When this
occurs repeatedly in the artery in the same areas the clots cause
a blockage.
- Vasoreactivity-
spasms of the arteries- this is a process where the arterial wall
flexes and expands in order to allow for better flow through the
arteries. At times this can occur too quickly and create a spasm
which squeezes the artery causing a blockage.
Now that we know what causes clogged arteries,
it is up to us to take the preventive measures, so that it does
not occur. On this website you will find many suggestions of ways
that you can do so.
